2016, Tour de SAC
Purpose: Humorously referred to as “the mother of all sit-ups”, the Teaser tests your powerhouse control to the fullest. At the peak of the exercise, momentarily hold the position, “teasing” the balance.
- Lie on back; legs extended out on a mat; arms overhead. Heels together; toes turned out slightly.
- Maintain the scoop; inhale; raise arms, head and shoulders, peeling upper body off the mat vertebra by vertebra; simultaneously lifting legs into a “V” sit.
- Hold the “V” position, balance on the tailbone. Exhale; roll spine down onto a mat.
- When head & heels touch the mat, stretch arms overhead to the starting position & repeat; inhaling as you float up; exhaling as you peel down.
Visualization: As you roll down, imagine each vertebra touching the mat the way your fingers travel on the keys of a piano.
Checklist:
- Head stays in line with spine. Fingertips toward toes. Legs stretched long.
- Don’t allow the upper body to touch mat before lower body or vice versa.
- Take your time, relax your mind and find your rhythm as you go.
Modification: Any difficulty sitting up all the way, slightly bend the knees, as you lift & lower body. Any back discomfort, perform Teaser with legs against a wall.

- Build a fitness foundation that challenges your body, helping to improve strength, endurance, flexibility, and balance.
- Incorporate high intensity exercises challenging the whole body, followed by a series of yoga postures that will flow and connect movement with breath.

Finishers Party Sunday, July 24th starting at 10:00am after Shari’s Cycle Class!
The Tour de SAC is back! Are you prepared to finish strong? Join us July 2nd – July 24th for the return of the Tour de SAC which will take place in conjunction with the 102nd Tour de France.
Awards and Prizes:
- 1st place finishers will receive a free massage, a free personal training session and a free Pilates session. 2nd and 3rd place finishers get a choice between the free massage, free personal training session or free Pilates session.
How to Complete:
- Every participant will track their progress by using a punch card in the Cycle studio with your name on it. Make sure to have your Cycle instructor initial your card each time you attend class. This is how we will account for how many stages riders complete.
The Party:

Please join Olivia, one of Seattle’s top Barre Instructors, for a new class time! Barre Works is a great way to sculpt your body. Saturday, July 16, 2016 | 3:00pm – 5:00pm
Shoulder and Chest Opening: Moving into Arching Postures Using props (including the Back Mitra, bolsters, and tennis balls) and various techniques, we will learn to go past the tightness in shoulders, neck, and chest. We will also explore and safely practice heart opening/arching asanas such as Upward Facing Dog, Cobra, Dancer’s Pose, Bridge, Camel, Bow, Pigeon. This is an All-Levels class and you will be offered modifications for all the poses.

SAC Members: $25 Once your spot is reserved, Fran will have you sign a sheet with your member number. Payments will be processed on the day of the workshop. 24-hour cancellation policy applies.
