Department Overview
Seattle Athletic Club is proudly home to one of the most vibrant squash communities in North America, with more than 500 active players. Our program blends structured coaching, competitive play, and social events that encourage skill development, foster meaningful connections, and create a lively hub where members can share their passion for the game. We also host national and international tournaments and exhibitions, bringing world-class squash talent to our courts and offering members the chance to experience the sport at its highest level.
Our state-of-the-art facilities feature nine international-size courts, highlighted by a spectacular ASB ShowGlassCourt. This striking centerpiece combines versatility and performance with an innovative design that transforms seamlessly from standard singles width to official doubles width. The result is crystal-clear sightlines, an elevated playing atmosphere, and the rare opportunity to experience a full-glass championship court—making Seattle Athletic Club the only private club in North America to offer this world-class amenity. About Vicky
Vicky Lust brings a wealth of experience to the squash court. A former World #12 and England #2, Vicky is a two-time World Team Championship silver medalist, a five-time European Team Champion and winner of 9 PSA titles.

With 16 years of coaching experience, Vicky is currently the National Coach for both the Canadian Men’s and Women’s Squash Teams—making history as the first female to hold such a position for both squads. Her impressive coaching portfolio includes working with top players like Hollie Naughton, a Commonwealth Games silver medalist with a career-high world ranking of #16, and David Baillargeon, a current World #59 and former World #39.
As a coach, Vicky has made her mark internationally. She led the Canadian Junior Girls to an historic bronze medal at the World Junior Championships and has coached numerous Canadian Junior National Champions. Under her guidance, juniors have progressed to play for prestigious colleges such as Stanford, Yale, UPenn, Dartmouth, Amherst, Cornell, and Drexel. She currently works with juniors competing at levels ranging from Silver to Gold events and JCT tournaments.
An NCCP Level 3 certified coach, Vicky has coached multiple national teams, both junior and senior, bringing her deep understanding of elite-level squash to every player she works with.

About Zane
Zane is the new Assistant Pro at SAC Downtown. He has been playing squash since he could walk, literally. He went on to compete in national junior tournaments and was number one ranked player during those years. He is a current Washington State Champion and is one of the highest ranked players in the state. Zane has been coaching in the Seattle area the last six years including a coaching position at WESA (Urban Squash Program) and he is also a certified personal trainer.

Laila Sedky - Assistant Squash Coach
About Laila
Laila Sedky is a Seattle native and one of the top squash players in the United States. She grew up in the Seattle squash community and has gone on to represent Team USA at the national and international level.
More about Laila
Laila is a two-time U.S. Junior National Champion, a former Seattle Player of the Year, and has represented the United States twice at the World Junior Championships. Most recently, she delivered a standout performance at the 2025 Pan American Games, further establishing herself as one of the top players in the Americas and an important part of the U.S. National Team program.
Laila works with players of all levels, from beginners stepping on court for the first time to elite juniors preparing for high-level competition. Her experience, knowledge of the game, and deep roots in the Seattle squash community make her a valuable addition to the Seattle Athletic Club squash program.

Mahdy Karam - Assistant Junior Squash Coach
About Mahdy
Mahdy Karam brings a lifelong connection to squash and a deep passion for the game. Born and raised in a true squash family, he grew up immersed in the sport and developed his game through years of training and competition in both the United States and Egypt.
More about Mahdy
Mahdy is a product of the Seattle Athletic Club junior squash program and went on to become one of Washington’s top-ranked junior players. His background in the game has also been shaped by time spent at Shadow Squash Academy in Egypt, where his mother, a former Egyptian National Champion, owns and operates the academy.
As Assistant Junior Coach, Mahdy works closely with younger and beginner players, helping them build confidence, technique, and a strong foundation in the game. He also contributes to adult programming and is available for private lessons, working with players of all ages and ability levels.
